About the Role

We are seeking confident, reliable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools in Oldbury on a daily supply basis. The role involves stepping into classrooms to supervise lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task. Ideal if you enjoy working in different school environments, thrive on last‑minute bookings, and want a schedule that fits around your life.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Full‑time or part‑time – completely flexible
• Short‑notice bookings are common, so adaptability is key

Who We’re Looking For

• Previous Cover Supervisor experience or strong classroom management experience within a school setting
• Experience supervising classes or supporting teaching staff
• Confident and professional behaviour management
• Clear communication with students and staff
• Rapid adaptation to new schools and routines
• Dependable, punctual, and proactive

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher
• Deliver pre‑planned work and keep students focused
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Build positive relationships with staff and students
• Represent the agency professionally across multiple schools

Requirements & Conditions

• Zest Education is an APSCo audited agency dedicated to safeguarding children
• All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one) and be registered on the DBS Update Service
• Provide references covering the last two years
• Successfully pass all safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work
• Salary depends on experience, training, or qualifications; minimum required: recent school‑based experience within the last 5 years of a school teaching the British Curriculum and/or care‑based experience within the last 5 years
• The role advertised is for temporary supply work
