Administrative Assistant I

Location & Work Arrangement

Onsite – Beaumont, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Work under minimal supervision.
  • Plan and layout work details.
  • Perform all phases of computer clerical support for the department to which assigned.
  • Create and maintain files, records, reports, maps, charts, and related documents.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism during stressful conditions when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Create and assist with special projects, including sensitive and confidential data.
  • Provide support for outage restorations during scheduled and non‑scheduled hours as required.
  • Learn company policies, procedures, and departmental responsibilities.
  • Train personnel on departmental functions and policies.
  • Exercise independent decision‑making and review the work of others.

Experience and Special Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General knowledge of clerical work and familiarity with all phases of work.
  • Some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in company computer programs and terminal applications.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Knowledge of company organizational operations related to the assigned department.
  • Valid vehicle operator’s license required.

Must be willing and able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Responsibilities

As a provider of essential services, employees may be required to work additional hours, alternate locations, or perform extra duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime for such duties.

Pre‑Employment Testing

Pre‑employment testing may be required for certain positions. Short informational tests are provided for practice and timing guidance. Travel expenses for testing are non‑reimbursable.
