You will support the Warehouse Manager in leading day-to-day warehouse operations, supervising a team of warehouse operatives, and ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of goods from receipt through to dispatch. The role is responsible for maintaining high operational standards while taking a hands‑on approach and working alongside the team when required.
Key Requirements
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and manage a team effectively
- Hands‑on approach with a willingness to work alongside the team during operational peaks or when required
- Solid understanding of warehouse processes, including goods‑in, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
- Strong knowledge of health & safety practices within a warehouse environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confident using IT systems, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing operational demands
- Experience in a technical or engineering‑related product environment (e.g. heating, cooling, renewable energy, or electrical equipment)
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH preferred)
- Forklift licence or experience operating material handling equipment (MHE)
