Role Overview
As an Assistant Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of commercial activities within the Delivery teams. The role works alongside the supply chain and contractors to assurance and support commercial activities.
Pre-Contract
- Support the development of commercial works information, reviewing works information from other functions and drafting contract documents.
Procurement
- Support the development of a contract management plan.
Post-Contract
- Support the delivery of contract management of the contracts to maintain effective commercial control.
- Support the administration of the obligations of the Project Manager under the NEC3 contract.
- Support the valuation of variations and compensation events.
- Support contract payments assessment.
- Review and analyse supply chain monthly reports.
- Input contract level performance information into monthly MBR reports.
- Support settlement of supply chain disputes.
- Support estimate reviews (at all stages).
- Actively promote and embed EDI in all work and comply with organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
About You
- Ability to administer contracts to deliver infrastructure or similar capital projects and programmes.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of dispute resolution processes and procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of common commercial policies, processes and procedures.
- A knowledge of contract, commercial and risk management methods.
