SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Behaviour Support

Location: Manchester (M11)

Start Date: September

Contract: Supply / Long‑Term Opportunity

Rate: Competitive, paid weekly

Are you a confident and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills? Our supply agency is looking for a dedicated individual to join a welcoming school in Manchester (M11), providing 1:1 behaviour support for a pupil with additional needs. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful, lasting difference to a child’s progress, confidence, and overall school experience.

The Role

  • Provide individualised 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural and social‑emotional needs
  • Use effective de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Support classroom learning, emotional regulation, and daily routines
  • Encourage independence, engagement, and resilience
  • Follow and adapt support based on the pupil’s personalised plan and targets

Your input will play a key role in helping the pupil feel understood, supported, and able to thrive both academically and socially.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a school‑based setting (essential)
  • Strong behaviour management and excellent resilience
  • A calm, patient, and supportive approach
  • Understanding of SEN/SEMH needs
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE, TA qualification, Psychology degree) – preference
  • The ability to build trust and form positive, motivating relationships

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
