Head of Asset Management

Location: Essex, with Hybrid Working

A significant Property Company is seeking an experienced property leader to head its Asset Management and Commercial Property function.

This is a high-profile role responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s strategic asset management, investment and commercial property agenda. The successful candidate will oversee a substantial and diverse property portfolio, driving income growth, capital receipts, portfolio optimisation and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the strategic asset management plan.
  • Drive commercial and investment strategy across a diverse property portfolio.
  • Maximise portfolio performance through acquisitions, disposals, repositioning and active asset management.
  • Provide strategic property advice to senior leadership and elected members.
  • Lead major property initiatives, commercial partnerships and transformation programmes.
  • Oversee third-party property, legal and commercial service providers.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing property team.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a commercially focused property professional with:

  • A recognised professional qualification (MRICS, FRICS or equivalent).
  • Leadership experience within commercial real estate, local government or a comparable asset-owning organisation.
  • Proven expertise in strategic asset management, investment property and income generation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience operating within complex governance environments.
  • A track record of delivering commercial outcomes, portfolio optimisation and capital receipts programmes.
