A specialist SEMH school is seeking a resilient and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This role involves supporting pupils aged 11–16 who present with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery
- Managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies
- Recording observations and progress updates
- Supporting pupils during break and lunch periods
Working Hours:
- Monday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
- Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm (staff meeting)
- Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships
- Full-time availability
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service OR willingness to apply and pay for a new DBS
- Two professional references
