Senior Lecturer in Architecture
Southampton Solent University is seeking a Senior Lecturer to contribute to the delivery of our Architecture programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, practice‑informed teaching on an ARB‑accredited course.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver teaching across a range of Architecture subjects, including theory, practice and design studio modules.
- Contribute to the continued development of the curriculum and enhance the student experience.
- Engage with research, professional practice and external partnerships.
- Promote sustainable conservation of listed buildings within the curriculum where possible.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Architecture or a closely related discipline; a doctorate is preferred.
- Strong understanding of professional architectural practice and/or industry experience.
- Experience in sustainable conservation of listed buildings is desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to support students in developing creative and technical competencies aligned with professional standards.
- Flexibility to contribute across a range of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary dependent on qualifications and experience within the university’s salary band.
- 35 days annual leave in addition to public holidays and scheduled closure periods.
- Development pathways available, including support to undertake a postgraduate teaching qualification where not already held.
