About the role
We’re looking for a practical, reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our team at Bromley Beacon Academy, Bromley. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our school is clean, safe and well‑maintained for all pupils, staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning, general maintenance and basic repairs.
- Provide site security and porterage duties.
- Support health and safety compliance across the site.
- Help supervise cleaning staff and liaise with contractors as needed.
- Work flexibly, including occasional early starts or late finishes, and perform out‑of‑hours duties when required.
Qualifications
- Experience in caretaking or site maintenance roles, with a good working knowledge of health and safety.
- Basic DIY skills.
- Practical mindset and ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to creating a safe and welcoming school environment for all.
- Appointment subject to an enhanced DBS check and, where relevant, a Children’s and/or Adult’s Barred List check, and verification of right to work in the UK.

Reporting to the Premises Manager. Location: Bromley Beacon Academy, Bromley.
