About the Role

We are currently seeking a Level 1 Loss Prevention Officer to join our dedicated security team in Bury. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting company assets, preventing loss, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers.

As a loss prevention officer you’ll be the first line of defence against theft and shrinkage, maintaining a visible and professional presence across the site while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV and conduct regular floor patrols to identify suspicious activity.
  • Deter theft and anti-social behaviour through proactive engagement and observation.
  • Apprehend and manage suspected offenders in line with company policy, legislation and law.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports.
  • Liaise with store management, security teams, and local authorities as required.
  • Support Health & Safety and emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail security or loss prevention preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflict situations professionally.
  • Flexibility to work a 44-hour weekly rota, including weekends and evenings.
  • A proactive, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
