About the Role
We are currently seeking a Level 1 Loss Prevention Officer to join our dedicated security team in Bury. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting company assets, preventing loss, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers.
As a loss prevention officer you’ll be the first line of defence against theft and shrinkage, maintaining a visible and professional presence across the site while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV and conduct regular floor patrols to identify suspicious activity.
- Deter theft and anti-social behaviour through proactive engagement and observation.
- Apprehend and manage suspected offenders in line with company policy, legislation and law.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports.
- Liaise with store management, security teams, and local authorities as required.
- Support Health & Safety and emergency procedures when necessary.
- Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail security or loss prevention preferred but not essential.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflict situations professionally.
- Flexibility to work a 44-hour weekly rota, including weekends and evenings.
- A proactive, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
