Contract Type: Permanent, 10 PAs (including 2PA on call)

Overview

This substantive 10PA post (inclusive of 2 PA for on‑call commitment) is a joint appointment for a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine. The post holder will be a member of both Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) services covering the national on‑call service and providing on‑site care at NHS Grampian.

The role involves senior medical delivery of paediatric palliative care to infants, children and young people with life‑limiting and life‑threatening conditions across hospital, hospice and community settings, and contributing to the strategic development of paediatric palliative care throughout Scotland, including education, training and research.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior medical delivery of palliative care to infants, children and young people with life‑limiting and life‑threatening conditions in hospital, hospice and community settings.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of paediatric palliative care across Scotland, including the delivery of education, training and research.
  • Coordinate with both CHAS services and NHS Grampian to ensure integrated care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Fully registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practice and be on the specialist register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent to be eligible for interview.
