EYFS Teaching and Learning Support Assistant – Maltby Lilly Hall Academy

Contract: Temporary – Term TimeHours: 33.75 per week (flexible schedule between 8:00am and 3:30pm; future flexibility up to 5:30pm)Start Date: As soon as possibleSalary: Band D £25,583 – £25,989 per year (pro‑rated £20,284.22 – £20,606.18)

The Academy invites a highly organised and committed individual to support the care and education of young children in our newly opened Early Years Centre. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior Early Years practitioners to promote pupil progress and welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with children, acting as a caring role model and responding to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with all staff to create and maintain a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
  • Use specialist curricular skills and training to support children’s development.
  • Prepare and tidy classroom and resources for daily activities, and assist with displaying children’s work.
  • Support children’s personal care needs, including hygiene, toileting, mealtimes, first aid and overall wellbeing.
  • Assist with the movement and handling of students with disabilities around the Early Years Centre.
  • Provide one‑to‑one and small group support, including delivery of planned learning and play activities; participate in targeted interventions.
  • Supervise and support children to ensure their safety, engagement and access to learning both indoors and outdoors.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social skills in line with Academy policies.
  • Observe, record and report on children’s progress, achievements and any concerns to the class teacher.
  • Maintain resources and equipment as required.
  • Work in partnership with the team, parents and carers, sharing information as directed.
  • Participate in training, staff meetings and performance development as required.
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with relevant external stakeholders and service user groups.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of students and other adults within the Learning Trust by adhering to all statutory and workplace policies.
