This vital role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of students with learning difficulties and disabilities across a range of curriculum areas.As a PASC, you will provide tailored academic and personal support to learners in mainstream settings, including in-class assistance and off-campus activities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to implement individual Support Plans and EHCPs, ensuring students receive the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive.Key Responsibilities:Deliver in-class support across theory and practical subjects, including English and Maths Assist with literacy, numeracy, note-taking, and adapting learning materialsSupport students outside the classroom, including safeguarding referrals and counselling accessAccompany learners on work experience placements and educational trips️ Provide personal care where requiredAct as a reader or scribe during examinationsMaintain accurate records including Support Plans, Action Plans, and EHCP documentationPromote pastoral support and follow up on attendance and punctualityParticipate in enrichment activities, departmental meetings, and learner voice initiativesWhat you will bring to the role:Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or above)Experience supporting individuals with mild to moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilitiesStrong communication skills and ability to relate to diverse learnersCommitment to equality, safeguarding, and inclusive educationEnthusiastic, adaptable, and responsible with a proactive approachAbout Newbury College and University Centre Newbury:We are a dynamic further and higher education institution located in the heart of West Berkshire, recognised for our forward-thinking approach and commitment to student success.
