Legal Assistant (Rights of Way)
Derbyshire County Council is currently seeking a skilled and motivated legal assistant to join our legal team.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Investigation of claims made under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
- Preparation of reports on investigated claims
- Arranging and attending public inquiries
What skills and experience do you need to have:
- Experience of researching and analysing information.
- A reasonable understanding of Rights of Way law and the principles of the Definitive Map and Statement
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure

Our Legal Team is contractually based in Matlock, Derbyshire, but we work on a flexible basis which includes options for home working. There’ll be an opportunity to discuss future working arrangements at interview.
