Primary Care Clinical Lead

Job Summary

Primary Care Clinical Lead to join the Primary Care Team at HMP Thorn Cross, a Category D open prison in Appleton Thorn, Warrington, housing around 430 males.

Key Details

• Full time, 37.5 hours per week over 4 days.
• Weekdays 07:30 – 17:30, Weekends 07:15 – 12:00.
• Annual salary £51,643 – £58,012 per annum (depending on experience).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and management to registered nurses and care teams.
• Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients and ensure own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
• Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
• Coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute to audits and governance and develop and review clinical/non‑clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Registered Nurse Adult, current professional qualification (NMC) and working at Senior Nurse level.
• Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
• Non‑judgmental and compassionate approach.
• Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship.
• Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is desirable.
