Job Title: Finance ERP Transformation Lead

Location: UK (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Contract

Duration: 9 Months

Role Overview

A leading UK organisation is undertaking a major ERP transformation, replacing a legacy SAP ECC platform with Oracle Fusion Cloud across Finance, Procurement, and HCM.

This role is a senior transformation leadership position, accountable for delivering the end-to-end finance workstream — from current-state assessment through to future-state design, implementation, and post-go‑live stabilisation.

The objective is to deliver a modern, standardised, and compliant finance operating model, leveraging Oracle best practices rather than replicating legacy processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the finance workstream end-to-end across design, build, test, cutover, and hypercare.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for finance transformation outcomes.

Current State & Process Design

  • Document and assess the existing finance operating model (R2R, P2P, OTC).
  • Identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for process optimisation.
  • Lead the design of a best-practice Oracle Fusion future‑state model.

Oracle Fusion Financials Design

  • Define Chart of Accounts, ledger structures, and financial controls.
  • Design budgetary control, period‑end close, and statutory reporting processes.
  • Lead fit‑gap analysis and design decisions aligned to Oracle standard functionality.

Data Migration & Integrity

  • Oversee data cleansing, mapping, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Ensure audit‑compliant migration and opening balances.

Testing & Go‑Live

  • Own finance cutover strategy, reconciliation, and go‑live readiness.
  • Support parallel run and first period‑end close in Oracle.

Stakeholder & Governance Management

  • Engage senior finance stakeholders, audit teams, and programme leadership.
  • Act as Finance Design Authority ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting on risks, issues, and progress.

Business Readiness & Change

  • Ensure finance teams are trained and prepared for Oracle adoption.
  • Drive process standardisation and reduction of manual workarounds.
  • Enable knowledge transfer and long‑term self‑sufficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading Finance ERP transformations (not just functional delivery).
  • Strong background in SAP FI/CO and Oracle Fusion Financials (GL, AP, AR, Assets, Expenses, Budgetary Control).
  • Experience designing Chart of Accounts and finance operating models.
  • Hands‑on experience with data migration, reconciliation, and ERP cutover.
  • Deep understanding of UK public sector finance and statutory reporting (CIPFA/IFRS).
  • Strong stakeholder management experience at senior leadership level.
  • Experience leading UAT, go‑live, and post‑implementation stabilisation.
  • Oracle Close Manager, OTBI, or OAC reporting experience
  • Public sector finance experience (e.g., fund accounting, grants, capital programmes)

Key Outcomes

  • Successful delivery of Oracle Fusion finance solution aligned to best practice
  • Clean, reconciled data migration and compliant go‑live
  • Reduced manual processes and improved financial controls
  • Finance team fully operational and self‑sufficient post‑implementation
