University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a post‑CCT fellowship in cardiac radiology. University Hospitals Bristol is the tertiary centre for adult and paediatric cardiac radiology, cardiology and cardiac surgery.

The role involves supporting the three cardiac radiologists, closely working with imaging cardiologists and reporting on acute CT/MRI and plain film or ultrasound sessions. One acute CT/MRI reporting session and one plain film or general ultrasound session per week are guaranteed; the remaining sessions will focus on specialist work.

On‑call weekend daytime provision 10:00–18:00 for one weekend per month. No further on‑call commitments.

The cardiac imaging exposure includes:

  • Support for 14 cardiac MRI sessions per week (≈3,000 patients per year)
  • Contribution to congenital, acquired disease and stress imaging cases
  • Support for 4 supervised sessions per week and unsupervised work (≈2,000 patients per year)

Opportunities to assist with audit, service improvement projects, research and to contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should have completed Foundation Training in Diagnostic Radiology and have a strong interest in cardiac imaging.

We encourage candidates with experience in cardiac MRI or CT reporting, or with research experience in cardiac imaging.
