Regional Sales Manager – Clinical Trials Services
The Opportunity
A specialist clinical services organisation is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to support the growth of its commercial activities across a defined territory. The organisation provides a range of laboratory and clinical support services to clients operating in diagnostics, biotechnology, and healthcare research environments.
With established, accredited laboratory facilities in the UK and a strong focus on quality and regulatory compliance, the business supports customers across the full lifecycle of clinical and assay development, from early-stage research through to scale‑up and routine service delivery.
As part of its continued expansion, the organisation is looking for a commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to lead new business development and build strategic client relationships. Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role will play a key part in delivering regional growth through consistent, high‑quality commercial activity.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone experienced in selling complex, service‑based solutions within clinical or life sciences settings, with a strong emphasis on new business acquisition and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Drive new business acquisition across the assigned territory, targeting clinical, diagnostic, and research‑led organisations
- Identify, qualify, and progress opportunities through a consultative, solution‑led sales approach
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract completion
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline, with accurate forecasting and reporting
- Develop a deep understanding of client requirements and align service offerings to meet clinical and operational needs
Account Development and Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain long‑term relationships with key stakeholders and decision‑makers
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional services or programmes
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective onboarding and high levels of client satisfaction
Collaboration and Internal Engagement
- Work closely with the Head of Sales to deliver regional commercial objectives
- Partner with marketing and customer engagement teams to support lead generation and communication strategies
- Provide ongoing market insight and customer feedback to inform service development and commercial planning
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience selling services within clinical services, diagnostics, or life sciences environments
- Strong track record in new business development and pipeline generation
- Experience managing complex, consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders
- Background engaging with biotech, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or academic organisations
- Commercially aware, with the ability to build credibility with both clinical and scientific stakeholders
- Highly organised, with strong pipeline management and forecasting capability
- Self‑motivated, resilient, and comfortable working independently
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory
