Role Purpose

Mill Green Golf Club, based in Hatfield, seeks a Golf Operations Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations for all golf course users, providing attentive service and enhancing customer and member experiences. The role involves managing Golf Operations Assistants, most on zero hours/casual contracts, and utilizing Get Golfing’s golf management software, ‘Golf Manager’, to deliver high-quality service to members, guests, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee Daily Golf Operations

Manage daily golf operations, optimize tee-time reservations to maximize revenue, ensure smooth course flow, and implement policies to increase playing opportunities.

  1. Golf Retail

Maintain golf shop inventory, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure liability forms are signed for rentals.

  1. Deliver Exceptional Customer Service

Lead and train staff, handle customer inquiries professionally, and foster a welcoming environment.

  1. Golf Days & Societies

Manage golf day and society experiences, ensuring value, managing bookings, and promoting retail sales.

  1. Member Engagement

Act as a primary contact for members, manage communications, and coordinate events and competitions.

  1. Financial Management & Revenue Optimisation

Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and identify profitability opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in golf operations management

  • Deep understanding of golf, rules, and industry landscape
  • Proficiency in ‘Golf Manager’ software and Microsoft Office
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
