Overview
Local authorities are responsible for helping children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to get to and from school. Over the last few years a combination of rising costs increased demand and budget cuts have led to increased pressures with over 80% of local authorities exceeding their school transport budget.
We’re working with a fast-growing software company who are on a mission to deliver positive change. They have created a cloud-based transport planning tool that helps local authorities to save money whilst ensuring a high quality of service for students and reducing carbon emissions. Having experienced exceptional growth and success across the UK market they are looking to expand overseas. They’re looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager join their growing team!
Responsibilities
The role involves keeping the company’s day-to-day operations running smoothly. That includes making sure all business functions work well together, improving how management information is organised and reported, and bringing in resource planning when it becomes necessary. It also involves strong oversight of key projects, particularly around infrastructure and consultancy. The focus is on ensuring projects stay on schedule, remain within budget, and meet quality expectations, while also improving project management tools and supporting project managers as they develop.
On the technology and data side, the role oversees internal IT (excluding the SaaS product), manages the IT Manager and the delivery of his projects, supports responses to customer compliance requests, and takes ownership of the company’s data handling, management, and protection processes. There’s a significant emphasis on process improvement, with a continual focus on identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and enhancing the overall quality of operations. In addition, the role drives broader organisational improvement by building scalability for international growth and maintaining the company’s upcoming ISO9001 and ISO27001 accreditation and compliance efforts.
Qualifications
- 5 years in an operations role in a SaaS company.
- Highly experienced at process design and change management.
- Highly experienced at documenting IT security compliance.
- Good experience with ISO standards and their implementation.
- Good knowledge of data protection legislation.
- Excellent written, presentation, and analytical skills
