People Projects & Policy Assistant – Gillingham – FTC 9–12 Months

Farnfields have an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term People Projects & Policy Assistant to support key people-focused projects and policy initiatives across the firm. This role can be full time, 37.5 hours per week, or part time at a minimum of 30 hours per week, for a fixed term of 9–12 months. Hybrid working is available for this position. This is not a typical entry-level HR role. If you’re analytical, organised, and keen to gain hands-on experience in HR projects and policy work, this position offers a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful contribution while gaining valuable exposure to project delivery, organisational development, and policy implementation.

About the role

Working closely with the HR Director and wider People Group, you will support the review, redesign, and rollout of HR policies while helping to coordinate and deliver a range of strategic People initiatives from planning through to implementation. This is a newly created role with real variety and scope to contribute ideas, improve processes, and help drive positive change across the organisation.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and naturally curious, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and see tasks through to completion. Culturally, we are a friendly and collaborative firm, so you’ll need to bring a positive, approachable attitude alongside an outcomes-focused mindset.

You will also have:

Previous HR experience is not essential. We’re more interested in your initiative, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn. This is an entry-level opportunity, ideal for someone looking to build a career in HR, people operations, project coordination, or organisational development, including graduates or those with equivalent experience.
