Senior Childrens Residential Support Worker

Are you an experienced Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker looking for your next opportunity in a supportive and well-established children’s home?

We are recruiting for a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a 3-bed EBD residential service in Ingol, Preston, supporting two young people aged 12 and 16 with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

The Role

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, mentoring colleagues, and helping young people achieve positive outcomes in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Minimum 6 months’ experience as a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex needs
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Comfortable driving an automatic vehicle
• PMVA / Safehold training desirable
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Leading shifts and supporting the management team
• Providing high-quality care and support to young people
• Supporting behaviour management plans and risk assessments
• Maintaining accurate records and reportsPromoting positive outcomes and independence
• Ensuring safeguarding and wellbeing remain at the forefront of practice
• Acting as a positive role model for both young people and staff

Shift Pattern

• 10:00am – 11:00pm
• Sleep-in
• 7:00am – 10:30am
