Housekeeping Assistant

Location: Richmond Villages Wood Norton, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 4TY

Salary: £12.90 per hour plus paid breaks and Bupa benefits. Permanent, 48 hours per week on shifts between 7am – 3pm / 9am – 3pm across 4‑5 days, including alternate weekends. Flexibility required to cover early shifts (07:00 with notice) and extra hours for holiday and sickness cover as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure residents’ care home facilities, public areas and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards.
  • Operate vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and carpet shampooers.
  • Empty bins regularly.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax and polish floors.
  • Clean carpets and upholstery and wash woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.
  • Wash, dry and iron residents’ clothing, bedding and communal laundry, including for on‑site care home residents.
  • Report all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSHH are adhered to at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role.
  • Basic understanding of infection control, COSHH and compliance standards.
  • Friendly and approachable with the ability to forge enduring professional relationships with colleagues, residents and their families.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride in work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a team across various functions and services.
