This is the starting salary for this role unless the successful candidate is able to evidence being in receipt of a higher salary in which case this may be reviewed.

The British Library organises a vibrant programme of temporary and permanent gallery exhibitions ranging from Beyond the Bassline: 500 years of Black British Music to Fairy Tales to Medieval Women. Responsibilities
- Work as part of a small team in the Exhibitions Office and support the everyday management of the Exhibitions office.
- Assist the exhibitions team with administrative tasks including minute taking, booking travel, stock checks and financial administration.
- Provide practical support to ensure the smooth delivery of our exhibition programme, such as book collection retrieval, gallery checks, assisting with the development of small object displays, and being on hand during exhibition installations.
- Support the technical aspects of mounting exhibits, conservation requirements for the display of books and other objects, and assist with AV/multimedia for exhibitions.
Qualifications
Experience or willingness to learn about the production of temporary exhibitions in the cultural sector with practical experience desirable.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the technical aspects of mounting exhibits and conservation requirements for displaying books and other objects; some experience with AV/multimedia for exhibitions.
Highly organised, able to work to deadline and possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a wide range of colleagues.
Need to be flexible on working hours and on occasion able to work outside of normal hours.
