About the School

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for students with significant feeding, mobility, toileting and personal hygiene requirements in a safe and dignified manner.
  • Support student learning in individual and small group settings, assisting with learning needs under teacher supervision.
  • Provide classroom support, including preparing and implementing learning activities and assisting with student participation.
  • Build strong rapport with students, supporting their social, emotional and physical needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify and support students requiring additional assistance.
  • Maintain student records and portfolios and support event and extracurricular activities.

Your Profile

  • Understanding of and a commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school.
  • A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality in dealing with young people and their needs.
  • The ability to work well either individually or collaboratively in a team and to accept direction and support.
  • Genuine care for the wellbeing of students.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic educational setting.
  • Experience in a similar role or working with children is desirable but not essential.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and a valid Suitability Notice.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
  • Australian work rights.
