In this role, you will work as part of a team to install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management systems, helping to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of works across the network.
The Role
- Work as part of the highway maintenance operational team.
- Install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management such as deploying cones, signs, frames, sandbags, and other equipment on low-speed roads.
- Install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic signals including two-way traffic control and up to multi-phase traffic control; ensure units are installed correctly and batteries are fully charged.
- Collect traffic management from sites once projects have been completed.
- Manage checklists to ensure equipment and systems are fit for use and fully operational prior to delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience delivering highway maintenance traffic management on site.
- A current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV class 2 desirable.
- Ability to carry out basic safety, quality and environmental audits and risk assessments.
- Ability to take responsibility for traffic management; 12 A/B Traffic Management essential with the relevant NHSS 12 training.
- A good understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace.
