Digital & Data Development Officer

Permanent

£39,862 – £44,075 per annum (subject to 26/27 pay award)

37 hours per week

We do things well and keep developing. Do you love using data and digital tools to improve services and support better decisions? We are looking for a new Digital & Data Development Officer to support the ongoing development of our digital services and data capability. You will play a key role in helping the council use data more effectively – designing dashboards, developing low‑code solutions, and improving services through automation and insight.

You’ll be turning complex data into clear, meaningful information, helping colleagues and leaders make better decisions. You will also design, build and maintain digital solutions using tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and GovService, helping to streamline processes and improve efficiency across the organisation.

You will have experience in data visualisation, digital development, and working with Microsoft technologies to create practical, user‑friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Required Skills

  • Possess strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Have proven experience using Microsoft Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
  • Be confident developing low‑code solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Have experience of researching and understanding user and business needs, and translating those into practical digital solutions.
  • Be able to work with stakeholders at all levels to understand their business requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately to a range of audiences.
  • Show strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Have a good understanding of data governance and compliance, and an awareness of data quality approaches.
  • Work well as part of a team and contribute positively to collaborative outcomes.
