University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust offer a 12‑month fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow position in Cardiology at the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI). The role will provide training in coronary angiography, echocardiography, complex imaging, electrophysiology and pacing, tailored to the successful candidate’s experience and interests.
The BHI is a £57m centre providing cardiac surgery, imaging and cardiovascular research. It includes two cardiology wards, six catheterisation labs and delivers a 24/7 primary angioplasty service across the network.
Outpatient clinics cover general cardiology and specialised services (heart failure, valvular heart disease, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, Adult Congenital Heart Disease). A consultant‑led post‑take ward round is provided for all emergency admissions.
Responsibilities
- Look after cardiology inpatients on the ward.
- Take part in general and specialised outpatient clinics.
- Contribute to the cardiology on‑call rota.
- Perform specialist sessions – echocardiography, MRI, CT, coronary angiography and pacing – as skills permit.
- Support the new Same Day Emergency Care service.
- Participate in training programmes across cardiac specialties.
