Operational Mentor – Grounds Maintenance

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time, 36.25 hours per week
Salary: From £30,387 per annum depending on experience
Grade: 6
Reporting Office: Manchester, Trafford
Persona: Mobile/Field Based Worker – contract hours to be worked from various locations such as resident homes, estates, etc., with ad-hoc office attendance as required
Working Pattern: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Closing Date: 30th June at 10:00 am
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the local maintenance team on site, mentoring members from diverse backgrounds, ensuring customer standards and targets are delivered, recording time on site, and maintaining a positive customer experience. You will use customer feedback to improve service delivery and operate within relevant health and safety regulations.
Impact
- Work alongside operatives to provide grounds maintenance services
- Carry out tenancy clearance duties
- Mentor and develop team members

Qualifications
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a corporate environment
- Experience in grounds maintenance
- Leadership experience or demonstrable leadership skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Full driving licence – required to drive L&Q fleet vans
- PA1 and PA6 City & Guilds qualifications are advantageous
- Experience with chipping, chainsaw, and use of a variety of equipment and hand tools
- Positive, can‑do attitude
- Knowledge of COSHH legislation
