Fire & Security Engineer

Location : Inner M25

Salary: £36,000 – £43,000 Basic (OTE £50k plus)

Hours: Permanent

Job Description An established, accredited provider of fire protection and security systems is seeking an experienced multi‑disciplined Fire & Security Engineer to join its growing team. The successful candidate will work with a range of commercial and high‑quality clients, carrying out installation, commissioning, maintenance, servicing, and fault‑finding activities across fire and security systems.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault‑finding of fire and security systems.
  • Competent in fire alarm systems, access control systems, intruder alarms, and CCTV systems.
  • Experience with both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity with industry‑standard fire and security software.
  • Experience working with a range of intruder alarm platforms.
  • Experience with IP CCTV systems.
  • Experience with access control systems.
  • Experience with emergency lighting systems.
  • Strong understanding of current British Standards relating to fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and emergency lighting.
  • Ability to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and recommend solutions independently.
  • Good IT skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rota.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Fire industry training certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience with IP‑based systems and networking.
  • Training and development opportunities will be provided to maintain knowledge of current standards and technologies.

Person Specifications

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • ECS or CSCS card desirable.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Able to pass industry vetting requirements and enhanced DBS checks.
  • PASMA and IPAF certifications desirable.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Logical, diligent, and proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Good communication and administrative abilities.
