Salary: 1st year – Apprentice National Minimum wage, 2nd year – National Minimum wage.

Job Summary
We are looking to appoint a motivated and dedicated Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Do you enjoy working with children and want to gain valuable experience in the classroom? This is a great opportunity to gain insight about working within a school while gaining an NVQ level 3 qualification. The apprenticeship training will be delivered through BeReady, further details will be provided. You’ll learn from sector specialist tutors to develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become a teaching assistant and make an impact on pupils’ learning.

Working in a school as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, your role will involve supporting the class teacher during lessons, assisting the teacher in maintaining a purposeful, supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the teacher to understand the objectives of each session
- Provide teaching support in small groups and individual pupils to aid the teacher
- Assist the teacher with observations and monitoring of the progress of children, both educationally and socially
- Keep up-to-date written records for supporting pupils
- Promote positive behaviour patterns, raise self-esteem, and improve independent work with children to assist their education and growth
- Assist in the development of individual development plans for pupils
- Support the work of volunteers and other teaching assistants in the classroom
- Assist in escorting and supervising pupils on educational visits and out of school activities
- Select, prepare and clear away classroom materials and learning areas ensuring they are available for use, including developing and presenting displays
- Support pupils in developing and implementing their own personal social and development
- Assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene, as required, whilst encouraging independence
- Working as a team member within your school and gaining invaluable experience
