Job Description:

Client Overview

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and emotionally intelligent support worker to assist a young female client recovering from a brain injury sustained in a road traffic accident. Following a 2.5-year period in a semi-vegetative state, the client has made remarkable progress over the past four years and is now actively out and about, engaging in a wide range of activities, though she continues to live with significant physical and cognitive challenges. She has limited mobility; she can walk short distances with assistance but uses a wheelchair in the community. She experiences cognitive impairments, including reduced short-term memory, and requires full support with all activities of daily living.

Her interests include gym sessions with a personal trainer, hydrotherapy and yoga, music therapy, cinema outings, getting her nails done, walking her dog in the park, and listening to R&B and popular music.

  • Provide personalised one‑on‑one support within the client’s home.
  • Leverage experience with brain injury clients to offer invaluable insights.
  • Foster a nurturing and positive environment that encourages independence and overall well‑being.
  • Prioritise client safety and well‑being as the utmost responsibility.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation, ensuring the highest standard of care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 months experience working with clients with traumatic or acquired brain injuries.
  • Experience with Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Huntington’s Disease or Multiple Sclerosis is highly desirable.
  • Must hold a full manual UK driving licence and be a confident, responsible driver capable of transporting the client regularly.
  • Minimum of 15 hours per week commitment; at least 4‑hour visits per client.
  • Ability to provide one‑on‑one support in a client’s home.

Personal Qualities

  • Strong, bubbly, and upbeat in personality.
  • Calm and grounded under pressure.
  • Adaptable and able to manage unpredictable situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in a household with a small dog (pet‑friendly essential).
  • Must be over 25 years of age (for insurance purposes).

Team Leader Opportunity

Candidates with relevant experience and leadership skills who work consistently on the package for a minimum of 6 months may apply for a Team Leader position, paid at £16 per hour.
