Fixed‑term / Secondment Opportunity
12‑month position as a Band 4 Substance Use Worker with the Substance Use Service (CADS). This opportunity is available to existing permanent employees who first discuss the secondment with their substantive line manager and submit a completed secondment request form. The request must be signed by the line manager and brought to the interview as confirmation of the secondment arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and interventions to adults aged 16 and over with moderate to severe complex substance use issues and mental health problems.
- Work autonomously within the locality while collaborating as part of an established multidisciplinary team.
- Develop working relationships with a wide range of professionals to improve service delivery.
- Travel within the area of service delivery to support community‑based services.
- Serve as a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong interest in substance use and experience working with adults having moderate to severe substance use.
- Demonstrated experience of effective networking, multi‑agency working and delivering psycho‑social models of recovery.
- Experience of assessment, management and review of adults with substance use and mental health difficulties is an advantage.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and committed to ongoing professional development.
Benefits and Working Conditions
- Fixed 12‑month term with possible full‑time hours reduced to 36 hours per week (Agenda for Change) with a corresponding hourly rate adjustment to maintain pay.
