Overview

The role is based at the Bristol Heart Institute, a purpose‑built facility for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease. The institute is a regional centre for ACHD patients and offers a full range of invasive cardiology services.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a full range of cardiac investigations within a regional tertiary service for cardiology and maintain associated patient records in line with local policies.
  • Work or be working towards independent practice without medical supervision in exercise tests and in pacemaker and ICD follow‑up clinics.
  • Work or be working towards independent practice in all aspects of cardiology, both non‑invasive and invasive, including on‑call duties, the ACHD service and routine electrophysiology studies.
  • Provide training and clinical supervision to students, assistant grades and other healthcare professionals as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Clinical Physiology, Healthcare Science – Physiological Sciences or equivalent.
  • IBHRE or BHRS accreditation is desirable.
  • Eligible for UK State registration as a Cardiac Physiologist through either RCCP, ACHS or the HCPC register.
  • Experience as a newly qualified or established Cardiac Physiologist who can step up to work within a busy tertiary Cardiac Centre.
