Job Description

Primarily this role will involve working in the Kitchen helping to ensure that it runs smoothly. You will be part of the Kitchen team that will ensure that we provide the best quality food to our guests. You may assist in other departments to ensure an excellent service to our guests and ensure we are meeting high standards.

About The Role

Your day to day includes:

Responsibilities

  • Managing the general day to day running of their section
  • Managing and maintaining HACCP
  • Managing the general cost and quality control for both incoming and outgoing goods
  • Ensuring that temperature readings are taken daily and accurately
  • Ensuring all kitchen equipment, fixtures and fittings are in good working order and no item of equipment is misused
  • Ensuring stock rotation is carried out correctly and documented daily
  • Ensuring proper training on all kitchen equipment and catering procedures
  • Ensuring stock levels are accurate at the end of every month
  • Ensuring all cleaning schedules are adhered to and hygiene checked daily
  • Ensuring all food served from their section meets the required standard highlighted in the menu specification
  • Assisting with ordering on a daily basis
  • Training of Chefs in section, delegating tasks to Commis Chefs and Chef De Partie
  • Assisting other Chef de Parties and keeping motivation and focus
  • Wearing clean, suitable uniform
  • Upkeeping the equal opportunities policy to ensure a neutral working environment
  • Participating in any training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance
  • Keeping staff/work areas tidy, safe and reporting any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management and observing all requirements under Health & Safety at Work Act 1989

Essential Requirements

  • Experience within a Chef de Partie role
  • NVQ qualification up to and including level 2 in Food Preparation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring flexible working and a genuine willingness to help guests and colleagues within the hotel
  • Hygiene Certificate
  • Understanding of COSHH
  • Excellent communication and listening skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience within the hospitality industry
  • Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate
  • NVQ Level 3 Food Preparation and Cooking
