Senior Design Engineer

About The Role

Senior Design Engineer based in Raynesway (Derby), Finham (Coventry) and Shelton (Shrewsbury). Design technical solutions for waste network facilities from optioneering through to construction, testing, commissioning and handover. Serve as a mentor for peers and collaborate with Project Managers to define contractual outputs ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Appraise and optioneer conceptual designs to create innovative and efficient TOTEX solutions for wastewater infrastructure assets, liaising with internal and external experts and ensuring design standards and assurance processes are followed.
• Proactively manage risk and maintain risk registers throughout the optioneering and design process.
• Act as Principal Designer, discharging duties in accordance with CDM regulations.
• Integrate Health and Safety throughout the design lifecycle.
• Assess delivery and operational risks, including H&S, environmental, and commissioning issues.
• Approve designs from internal or external designers.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree qualification (desirable).
• Professional commitment as a member of an engineering institution or actively working towards incorporated or chartered status.
• Background in the water industry desirable, but a civil engineering discipline is required.
• Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
• Forward‑thinking mindset capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change.
• Full UK driving licence.
