Position Summary

Department Manager – Full‑Time – London. The role reports to the Store Manager and is responsible for driving sales and overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the store. The manager ensures a high‑standard customer service and deputises for the Manager and Assistant Manager when required.

Responsibilities

  • Personally drive sales, offer exceptional customer service and build a personal client list.
  • Manage and lead the sales team to achieve sales targets.
  • Show exemplary service techniques to lead the team in excellence of service.
  • Deputise for the Manager and Assistant Managers in all aspects of their role.
  • Understand the entire running of Store Operations and have a working knowledge of all processes and procedures.
  • Support the Senior Management team in training to ensure all staff have relevant industry knowledge and product expertise.
  • Maintain constant awareness of security issues at all times.
  • Identify opportunities and initiatives to continually improve performance and communicate them to the Store Manager.
  • Ensure the store image aligns with business standards through floor walks, floorplans, stock replenishment and VM guidelines compliance.
  • Maintain workplace safety and provide a healthy environment for staff and customers.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the processes, procedures, and systems used in assigned tasks; acquired through job‑related training and experience; operates within a defined role with some autonomy.
  • Understanding of how the team integrates and collaborates with other teams to achieve department objectives.
  • Provides on‑the‑job training and support for new team members; allocates resources, coordinates tasks, reports on quality and progress, and acts as coach/mentor.
  • Understands procedures, evaluates and selects appropriate alternatives, and monitors own work against agreed deadlines; responsible for checking quality and accuracy, producing routine reports and documents from templates, and performing activities in structured environments.
  • Directly impacts customer experience and team performance through quality tasks or services provided.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with colleagues and customers.
