Position
Specialist Clinical Pharmacist – Band 7
Band 7 £52,845 – £61,466 per annumPlus £1,461 and Distant Islands Allowance per annumPermanent36 hours per week
The post is based at the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. This role will join a friendly and highly motivated multidisciplinary team including a full range of health professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy service to several wards at Western Isles Hospital.
- Collaborate with Primary Care Pharmacy to enhance safe patient transition across boundaries of care.
- Support the front‑door service and Hospital at Home initiatives.
- Deliver clinical pharmacy service to the local hospice and remotely to Uist & Barra hospitals.
- Participate in the capital project for a dispensary refit and in the installation of Omnicell vending machines.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and new pharmacy projects.
Requirements
- Registered pharmacist with the relevant UK statutory registration.
- Experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting, ideally in a rural or island environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
- Knowledge or willingness to learn electronic prescribing and medicines administration (HEPMA).
