About the Role
Fowlco Maritime & Special Projects (FMPS) is seeking a Business Development Associate to support our commercial, logistics, and customer engagement functions. FMPS is a leading Bahamian provider of integrated maritime logistics, port agency, trucking, warehousing, customs brokerage, and special project solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who is professional, well‑spoken, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow in a fast‑paced logistics and maritime environment. You will support our sales pipeline, customer communication, documentation accuracy, and cross‑department coordination—ensuring seamless execution across our service lines.
What You’ll Do
Administrative & Commercial Support
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and customer correspondence
- Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, and sales files
- Update CRM and sales tracking systems daily
- Prepare weekly/monthly commercial activity reports
- Support documentation for port agency, trucking, warehousing, and customs brokerage
- Assist with data entry, filing, and contract preparation
Customer Service & Communication
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries
- Support scheduling of site visits, vessel meetings, and follow‑ups
- Communicate order details to Dispatch, QC, Operations, and Port Agency teams
- Provide clear, timely responses to customers
- Represent FMPS with professionalism and strong public‑speaking skills
Sales Pipeline & Business Development
- Track leads from inquiry to quotation to follow‑up to conversion
- Conduct outreach to confirm project details and quotation status
- Support structured outreach campaigns
- Identify opportunities across FMPS service lines
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Liaise with Dispatch for scheduling and trucking coordination
- Coordinate with Finance for invoicing and payment follow‑up
- Support Marketing with customer lists and campaign data
- Assist with vessel turnaround and regulatory documentation
Public Representation
- Represent FMPS at job fairs, trade events, mixers, seminars, and radio promotions
- Deliver FMPS service information and brand messaging confidently
- Support event preparation and customer engagement activities
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred
- 1–2 years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience
- Strong verbal communication and public‑speaking skills
- Excellent written communication and document preparation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to learn CRM and sales tracking systems quickly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional, customer‑focused attitude
Preferred Experience
- Sales support, customer service, or commercial administration
- Maritime, logistics, trucking, warehousing, or port operations
- Experience preparing quotations or commercial documents
- Exposure to customs brokerage or freight forwarding
