Staff Data Scientist – NLP, Semantic and text data

London (hybrid, 2 to 3 days per week) £130,000 to £145,000 base

If you are excited by the challenge of shaping how users interact with AI at scale, this is a role where your work will directly influence product direction. You will operate at staff level, owning high-impact analytical initiatives in an AI-first environment built around large-scale conversational data.

The Role

You will sit at the heart of the product and data ecosystem, acting as a key driver of insight and direction.

  • Lead analysis across large-scale text and conversational datasets to uncover meaningful patterns
  • Apply semantic analysis and NLP techniques to understand and improve user interaction with AI systems
  • Partner directly with product teams to translate insight into tangible product decisions
  • Build scalable analytical frameworks and data pipelines using Python and SQL
  • Take full ownership of analytical work from problem definition through to measurable impact
  • Influence product strategy through clear, actionable recommendations
  • Work in an exploratory environment, identifying opportunities within unstructured, ambiguous data

Your Skills and Experience

  • Strong commercial experience working with high-volume text or conversation data
  • Deep understanding of semantic analysis and NLP in a real-world product setting
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills, with experience building scalable solutions
  • Proven ability to work closely with product teams and shape direction through data
  • Confidence operating in ambiguous, exploratory environments
  • Track record of delivering clear, measurable product or business impact
  • Background in AI-native, SaaS or text-heavy environments is highly beneficial
