Job Description:

We are looking for a self‑motivated individual who will work as part of a team and on their own. The successful candidate will play an active role within the support team.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake routine or emergency/unplanned cleaning tasks in inpatient, outpatient and department areas
  • Follow cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
  • Use a variety of cleaning equipment
  • Work up to 12‑hour shifts, covering 07:00 to 24:00 on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Receive a full induction and an extensive on‑the‑job training programme covering all aspects of the service

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Literacy, numeracy and comprehension skills
  • Basic health and safety, COSHH, moving and handling and food hygiene knowledge, or willingness to learn through on‑the‑job training
  • Health and safety, COSHH, moving and handling training

Other

  • Can work flexibly as required
  • Welsh speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards it

Experience

  • Experience of dealing with the general public

  • Understand and follow routine instructions
  • Work under pressure and respond to changing demands at short notice
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to work as a Domestic Assistant
  • Prepared to work alone
