As a Mental Health Support Worker within the REST Stop Service, you’ll provide responsive hands‑on support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, delivering therapeutic interventions that help people stay safe and develop the skills needed for recovery in a supportive and compassionate environment. You’ll offer person‑centred, trauma‑informed support through one‑to‑one and group activities, while assessing and managing risk on a recovery‑focused basis. From overseeing referrals, admissions and discharges to working closely with partner agencies, supporting with medication, and keeping care plans up to date, you will play a vital role in ensuring each person receives high‑quality, compassionate support that truly makes an impact.
Qualifications
- Experience in the mental health sector, working directly with clients to deliver effective interventions
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries
- Flexibility to work a rota that includes weekends, sleep‑ins and bank holidays
