Business Development Manager – ATEX & Hazardous Area Solutions

Location: UK (Field-Based)

Salary: Competitive Basic Salary + Bonus

The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a specialist technology solutions provider serving industrial and hazardous-area environments.

This is a highly autonomous, customer-facing role focused on identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities across sectors including oil & gas, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, utilities, logistics and other safety-critical industries.

Working closely with technical and operational teams, you will promote a portfolio of ATEX-certified and intrinsically safe technology solutions, helping customers improve safety, productivity and operational efficiency in hazardous environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive revenue growth across the UK.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within target industries and accounts.
  • Build relationships with decision makers including Operations Managers, Engineering Managers, HSE professionals, Maintenance Managers and Procurement teams.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, product demonstrations and solution presentations.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation and contract award.
  • Work collaboratively with internal technical specialists to develop tailored customer solutions.
  • Maintain an active pipeline and provide accurate sales forecasts through CRM systems.
  • Attend industry exhibitions, networking events and trade shows to generate new opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within hazardous area and industrial technology sectors.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Business Development, Technical Sales or Field Sales role.
  • Track record of generating and winning new business opportunities.
  • Experience selling technical products, engineered solutions or industrial technologies.
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, organised and capable of managing a field-based territory.
  • Full UK driving licence.
