The Opportunity

Mazco Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established precision engineering manufacturer based in Rugby. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Sliding Head CNC Programmer to join their team on a weekend shift working Friday to Sunday.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern manufacturing environment producing high‑precision components for a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting and operating STAR Sliding Head CNC machines
  • Producing complex precision‑machined components to tight tolerances
  • Editing and optimising CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality
  • Selecting and setting tooling and fixtures
  • Conducting first‑off inspections and ensuring components meet specification
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Monitoring machine performance and maintaining production targets
  • Working independently to manage jobs from set‑up through to completion

Requirements

  • Proven experience programming, setting and operating STAR Sliding Head machines
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and tooling
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and high‑quality standards
  • Self‑motivated with excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience within a precision engineering environment
