Class 1 Driver – Altrincham area
Pay £18.50p/h
We are currently recruiting a Class 1 Driver to work for our client. Newly passed drivers are welcome to apply, so even if you have limited experience, this could be a great opportunity for you.
The Role
As a Class 1 driver you will be reporting to the Team Leader and work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment, adapting to new situations on a daily basis. This is a physically and mentally demanding role that requires reliability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
Work will involve driving from the depot in Altrincham to different parts of the UK, driving with another driver to cover the 9‑10 hour shift. The job includes loading and offloading the load.
Shifts
Average 9‑10 hour shifts. Start time: 6am.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and legal operation of a lorry
- Conducting pre‑trip vehicle checks
- Ensuring loads are secure
- Planning efficient delivery routes
- Adhering to drivers’ hours and road regulations
- Delivering goods to specified locations on time
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with Category CE (Class 1)
- Maximum of 3 penalty points
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑conscious
- Strong work ethic with a positive, can‑do attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Minimum 1 year’s experience desirable, but not essential
