Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Adult & Specialist Rehabilitation Services Division provides high quality care to patients.

The Adults & Specialist Rehabilitation Division are pleased to announce the Role of Physiotherapy Clinical Team lead for Inpatient Therapy team. This opportunity is to work across the In‑Patient Therapy Teams based at Moseley Hall Hospital and to contribute to the leadership and management of the Service in this capacity.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with the Service Clinical Manager to deliver on service priorities around managing flow supporting Therapy team alongside the existing B7 Occupational Therapy Clinical team lead.

Therapy team at Moseley Hall consists of Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and therapy assistants.

You will be part of the In‑Patient Therapy management team for the Division ensuring the Team’s voice is integral to the transformation and future direction of the service.

The In‑Patient Therapy team supports Discharge to Assess pathway and the role is crucial to ensure Therapy teams receive the clinical support and leadership to facilitate discharge and maintain Length of stay.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and enthusiastic about positively impacting the discharge experience for patients, families, carers and staff, whilst ensuring that people leave the inpatient setting in an appropriate and timely manner. This exciting role gives a unique opportunity to work with expert clinical and operational teams such as Single Transfer of Care Hub to ensure we deliver effective, safe and excellent care to our patients.

Job responsibilities

You will have day‑to‑day operational responsibility for your Teams (based at Moseley Hall Hospital) and will also contribute to the overall management of the Service alongside the Occupational Therapy Clinical Team lead.

Person Specification

Experience

  • Supervisory Skills and Preceptorship
  • Supervised Assistants

Personal Qualities

  • Proven ability to be an active member of a multi‑disciplinary team / inpatients
  • Passionate about service improvement
  • Experience of leading on Ward level meetings / audits

Qualifications / training

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current Health Professionals Council registration
  • Extensive evidence of relevant post‑registration training and CPD
  • Clinical Supervisors / Fieldwork education

Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience of working within Discharge to assess Model
  • Demonstrates a problem‑solving approach and MDT working
  • Evidence of clinical audits, quality improvement
  • Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and Health inequalities
  • Experience of working in Inpatients, community hospital
  • Clinical practice educator, CSP member
  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the role

£49,387 to £56,515 a year per annum (plus travel allowance)
