Salary and Benefits
Salary: Up to £54,000, depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working arrangement: 3-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification. Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship required. All successful candidates must obtain SC clearance, managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Systems Architect to join a growing team designing the next‑generation Mission Planning system across air and maritime domains. The role reports to the Lead Architect and is part of the Mission Planning & Control team. The Architecture team works transversally across all Mission Planning product lines.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with design teams and help evolve and capture the system design using MBSE principles.
- Generate and review architecture artefacts.
- Contribute to engineering milestones and key design reviews.
- Ensure best model practice is followed and design is complete, coherent and drives development.
- Work with the wider Weapon Systems teams to ensure traceability.
- Drive commonality and re‑use across product lines.
Qualifications
- Experience in systems architecture and using Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Proficiency with Rhapsody or equivalent modelling tools.
- Experience with Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) or equivalent configuration control tools.
- Experience with DOORS Next‑Gen or equivalent requirements management tool.
- Solid understanding of SysML and architectural principles.
- Desire to work within a complex problem space across product lines.
- Ability to communicate and engage positively with cross‑functional teams.
- Good problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of Mission Planning (useful but not essential).
