Role Overview

We are looking for a Waiting List Coordinator to join our team in Paediatric Cardiology at the Bristol Children’s Hospital. The position is part‑time (30 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will arrange and book daycase and procedure dates with families and communicate with clinical members of the team on a daily basis.
  • Help with day‑to‑day queries from families and other medical professionals.
  • Process inpatient admissions by telephone in line with the PAP, informing patients of changes or cancellations and rebooking if required.
  • Record, maintain and update admission information on the Trust’s Patient Administration System (PAS).
  • Register patients onto waiting lists and generate all associated paperwork in adherence with the PAP and Trust Inpatient Booking Procedures.
  • Arrange pre‑operative assessment appointments in a timely manner, checking pre‑operative assessment proformas to ensure patients are fit for admission.
  • Book patient appointments in line with the PAP and arrange appointment‑related services as required (e.g., transport and interpreting services).
  • Be responsible for accurate entry of data to computerised databases, using all computer systems relevant to the role.
  • Check incoming email inboxes daily to keep up to date with departmental and Trust‑wide news and information.
