Construo Recruitment are seeking experienced Solar Roofers to lead roof-mounted PV installations across residential and commercial projects around East Anglia.

This role is ideal for a skilled roofer with hands-on solar experience, confident in structural mounting, weatherproofing, and full DC array wiring, with a solid understanding of UK solar standards and MCS compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar PV systems on a range of roof types, including pitched (slate/tile), metal, and flat roofs
• Complete all roof-level DC wiring, including:
• Module interconnections and string wiring
• Cable routing and management
• Installation of DC isolators, connectors, optimisers, and microinverters
• Earthing and bonding of arrays and mounting systems
• Ensure all work complies with MCS 020 & MCS 012 standards
• Ensure all work complies with IET Code of Practice for Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems
• Work in line with current regulations, including:
• BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022 (IET Wiring Regulations)
• BS EN (phone number removed):2016 + A1:2018 (Inspection, testing & documentation)
• UK Building Regulations (Part A, C & P)
• Install mounting systems using correct structural fixings, flashings, and waterproofing methods
• Carry out visual inspections and support commissioning alongside electricians
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism on site

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years’ roofing experience
• Proven experience installing roof-mounted solar PV systems
• Strong knowledge of DC wiring and PV components
• Understanding of MCS standards and UK solar best practice
• Ability to read and interpret installation drawings and schematics
• Comfortable working at height (ladders, scaffolding, fall arrest systems)
• Full UK manual driving licence (held for at least 1 year)

Desirable

• Experience completing MCS documentation on site
• CSCS card and/or Working at Height certification
• Electrical knowledge or Level 2/3 electrical qualification
