Administrative Assistant (Fire Safety Regulation)

Salary: £31,132 per annum (£31,132 – £36,723 per annum)

Contract: Fixed Term (12 months), Full-time

Location: London Fire Brigade headquarters, London

Responsibilities

  • Handling incoming calls, enquiries, and messages professionally
  • Providing administrative support to ensure efficient office operations
  • Maintaining accurate records, databases, and filing systems
  • Organising meetings, appointments, and events, including documentation and logistics
  • Using computerised systems to input, update, and retrieve information accurately
  • Assisting visitors and colleagues while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Prioritising workloads to meet deadlines and handling sensitive information confidentially
  • Working collaboratively to deliver high-quality service and contributing to a safe, inclusive work environment

Selection Criteria

  1. Experience of using standard computerised office systems and specialised computer databases, and understanding of their role in an office environment.
  2. Experience of organising, planning, and prioritising own work; meeting deadlines and targets while working flexibly within a team.
  3. The ability to use interpersonal skills that contribute to a team-working environment where colleagues demonstrate mutual respect, care and consideration.
  4. An understanding of the reasons for having an equalities policy and why it is observed in all areas of work and behaviour; and an awareness of personal responsibility with regard to the policy.
